The hype for Atsushi Nishigori’s upcoming original anime film Grotesqqque is officially ramping up, with the project’s official X (formerly Twitter) account announcing the digital release of “Pavilion”—a standout track from the “A(E)liens” story arc performed by Nanahira and composed by Tsumiki. Backed by an ambitious lineup of 35 musical acts contributing across the film’s three distinct narratives, the project is gearing up for its world premiere at the prestigious Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal before its wide theatrical release in Japan on November 6.
An All-Star Creative Force Behind Three Unique Omnibus Stories
Helmed by director, writer, and character designer Atsushi Nishigori (known for The IDOLM@STER and DARLING in the FRANXX), Grotesqqque brings together a powerhouse collaboration from JOEN—the joint venture established by Aniplex, CloverWorks, Wit Studio, and Shueisha. The omnibus feature weaves together three distinct worldviews: “A(E)liens,” the pun-heavy “Yoroshiku★Girl” (“4649 Girl”), and “Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque.” Musical elements will anchor the experience further, featuring the band METALVERSE performing the opening theme “Shoot Shoot Shoot,” alongside additional tracks rolling out in the lead-up to the film’s theatrical debut.
