FuRyu Brings Cult-Classic Fantasy RPG Exstetra to PS5 and Nintendo Switches Following Surprise Steam Debut
Get ready to save a doomed Tokyo with the power of a kiss, because FuRyu’s fantasy RPG Exstetra is officially getting an HD remaster for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 on September 3. The announcement follows a surprise PC release via Steam, finally bringing the cult-classic title to modern platforms alongside its first-ever official English localization.
A Tokyo Fused With Another World Awaits Its Savior
Originally released in Japan in November 2013 for the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS, Exstetra drops players into “Amazea”—a version of Tokyo fused with an otherworldly realm and hurtling toward destruction. Players step into the shoes of Ryoma, a high schooler thrust into the role of the “Prisma” savior. Alongside his destined “Prisma Knights,” whom he must awaken with a kiss to unlock their world-saving potential, Ryoma embarks on an epic adventure backed by an all-star creative lineup featuring theme music by ClariS, a main theme composed by Yōko Shimomura, character designs by Tony and Katsumi Enami, and stunning art direction by Tokyo Gensō.
