AnimEigo Announces Major Blu-ray Licensing Slate for 2027, Featuring ReLIFE, Antique Bakery, and More!
During its Otakon panel on Friday, iconic anime distributor AnimEigo dropped major announcements for upcoming physical media releases, confirming a massive lineup slated for 2027. The high-profile slate includes a comprehensive Blu-ray edition of the 2016 comedy series and four-episode OVA ReLIFE, a 2027 Blu-ray release for the 12-episode adaptation of Fumi Yoshinaga’s Antique Bakery, and an HD-restored Blu-ray for the 1995 four-part OVA Ruin Explorers – Fam & Ihrie.
Classic Treasures Get 4K Restorations and North American Debuts
AnimEigo’s 2027 roster also delivers heavily anticipated releases for classic and overlooked titles. The distributor will release Dog of Flanders: The Movie on Blu-ray in late 2027 featuring a stunning 4K restoration that includes both the uncut original and the edited Pioneer English dubbed version starring Robert Loggia. Additionally, Hideo Okuda’s Welcome to Irabu’s Office (Kūchū Buranko) will finally make its North American home video debut on Blu-ray in 2027, complete with a brand-new English dub produced by AnimEigo.
