Reijnders Shocks Football World with £52M Move from Manchester City to Saudi Arabia—What Definitely Made Him Say Yes?

Manchester City agrees £52 million transfer of Tijjani Reijnders to Al Qadsiah

Manchester City has reached a deal with Al Qadsiah for the transfer of midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, sources confirmed to ESPN. The Netherlands international will join the Saudi club, managed by Brendan Rodgers, for a reported fee of £52 million ($70.1 million).

Personal terms are reportedly close to being finalized, with the transfer set to be completed after the 28-year-old undergoes a medical examination. Reijnders trained separately from the City squad on Thursday, signifying the impending move.

Reijnders departs the Etihad Stadium after one season, having joined City from AC Milan for £46.5 million last summer. During his time at City, he made 47 appearances and scored seven goals.

In a separate development, sources close to the City camp have dismissed claims that the club has made a formal bid for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández. Chelsea has established a deadline of 5 p.m. UK time on Friday for receiving offers of £120 million for the Argentinian midfielder, or he will remain at Stamford Bridge for the season.

Following the agreement for Reijnders’ transfer, there are concerns that City may face another departure, with Barcelona expressing interest in Spain World Cup winner Rodri. The 30-year-old midfielder has one year remaining on his contract with City, and there is increasing speculation regarding a potential move to Camp Nou.
