Australian Golfer Jessica Bang Dies at 18 After Brain Hemorrhage
The golf community is mourning the loss of rising star Jessica Bang, an 18-year-old Australian golfer who passed away on August 13 in Thailand. Her family confirmed her death through a GoFundMe campaign, stating she suffered a brain hemorrhage while preparing for an upcoming tournament.
According to her cousins, Bang collapsed on August 1 and was immediately hospitalized. She underwent emergency brain surgery and was later placed on life support in the intensive care unit. Efforts were made to bring her back to Australia for recovery.
The GoFundMe update expressed the family’s heartbreak, saying, “We are truly heartbroken by this news. However, we would like to continue to remember Jessica and celebrate her achievements, passion, and dedication to golf.”
Her cousins also reflected on their memories with Bang, stating, “As her cousins, we will forever cherish the time and memories we shared with Jessica. Her sense of humor, together with her cheerful and vibrant personality, will always be remembered and treasured by our family.”
