Luigi Mangione’s Writings Indicate Anti-Corporatist Sentiment

Luigi Mangione, recently taken into custody, had three pages of writings totaling less than 300 words in his possession, according to NBC News, citing the NYPD. Senior law enforcement officials revealed that these writings contained statements such as, “Frankly these parasites had it coming.” The officials noted that while Mangione claimed he acted alone, they have not discounted the possibility of additional accomplices.

In his writings, Mangione addressed federal authorities, stating, “To the Feds, I’ll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn’t working with anyone.” He also expressed remorse, saying, “I do apologize for any strife or traumas but it had to be done.”

However, the full context of Mangione’s motivations has yet to be confirmed. In a December 10 interview, Tisch noted the presence of anti-corporatist sentiment and criticisms of the healthcare industry within the writings. She indicated that the precise motivation would emerge as the investigation develops over the coming weeks and months.
