Liverpool Pursues PSG’s Bradley Barcola; Real Madrid Eyes Kees Smit

As the summer transfer window heats up, Liverpool has rekindled its interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, following PSG’s recent acquisition of Ajax’s Mika Godts for €45 million. The 23-year-old Barcola has seen his playing time diminish amid a flurry of new signings at PSG, which also include Maghnes Akliouche and Ferran Torres for a combined €150 million. In a recent match against Aston Villa, Barcola remained an unused substitute, prompting manager Luis Enrique to comment, “when a player doesn’t have a smile when coming here, it’s better to look for another solution.” Sources indicate that Liverpool has prioritized Barcola as their top target for a wide forward this summer, having already engaged in preliminary talks with his representatives, although Arsenal has also expressed interest. PSG is reportedly seeking a fee around €150 million for the French international.

In other transfer news, AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit has caught the attention of Real Madrid. The 20-year-old is poised to depart the Eredivisie as he seeks to advance his career, with AZ Alkmaar open to offers in the region of €60 million. Real Madrid, along with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, have all previously shown interest in the Netherlands international; however, any move by Real Madrid may depend on potential departures from their current midfield options.

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly eyeing a transfer for Crystal Palace defender Daniel Muñoz, amid speculation regarding his departure from Selhurst Park. Following Djed Spence’s €30 million transfer to Inter Milan, Spurs are seeking to bolster their right-back position, leaving Munoz as a significant target.

In goalkeeping news, Parma’s Zion Suzuki is nearing a €30 million transfer to Aston Villa after a failed deal with PSG, which could result in the departure of current Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez, who has attracted interest from Juventus.

Furthermore, Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo is on the verge of joining Tottenham as negotiations reportedly progress between the two clubs, with personal terms already agreed upon. The Dutch forward, who recently signed an extension with Liverpool that runs until 2030, could see a transfer fee approach £70 million.

Newcastle United is engaged in discussions with Bayern Munich regarding a transfer for Portugal midfielder João Palhinha, who has been linked with a return to the Premier League, with Aston Villa also reportedly interested. Bayern Munich has expressed a preference for a permanent transfer rather than another loan deal.

In other notable transfer activity, Coventry City has confirmed a deal to sign Taiwo Awoniyi from Nottingham Forest, while Leeds United has sealed a €10 million move for defender Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Destiny Udogie is open to a potential move from Tottenham to AS Roma, while Atletico Madrid continues to pursue a center forward and a winger, including bids for Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo. West Ham is hopeful for the return of Axel Disasi on loan, while FC Porto’s Santiago Gimenez is closing in on a switch to the Portuguese club.

Juventus is exploring options for Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, while FC Porto’s Rodrigo Mora has turned down a move to Galatasaray, expressing a preference to join AS Roma.
