Tottenham Pulls Off Shocking Move for Man City’s Savinho—What’s Next?

Tottenham Completes £85 Million Deal for Savinho from Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur has finalized a deal to sign winger Savinho from Manchester City for a fee that could reach £85 million ($116 million), according to sources. The agreement includes an initial payment of £75 million, with an additional £10 million available in performance-related add-ons, of which £5 million is deemed easily achievable. This marks the conclusion of a lengthy pursuit for the 22-year-old, which began last summer.

Savinho is set to undergo a medical examination before officially signing a long-term contract with Tottenham. This transaction pushes Spurs’ summer spending beyond £300 million, following the acquisitions of players such as Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke, along with free agents Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Martin Dúbravka. The club has recouped approximately £140 million through the sales of Luka Vuskovic, Cristian Romero, and Djed Spence.

During his time at Manchester City, Savinho made just 53 appearances, scoring two goals and registering 12 assists after transferring from Troyes for €40 million in 2024. He was notably absent from City’s squad for the recent Community Shield loss to Arsenal while negotiations were ongoing.

Tottenham is also reportedly in discussions for another deal involving City forward Omar Marmoush. The club previously attempted to sign Savinho last summer, but he opted to remain at City in hopes of securing a place in the first team, ultimately starting only seven Premier League matches under Pep Guardiola in his final season with the club.

Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi is scheduled to address the media later today before the team’s Premier League opener against Brentford on Saturday.
