Cyberleek Concludes Grand Theft Auto 6 Leak Series Amid Crypto Coin Failure
- Cyberleek’s final Grand Theft Auto 6 leak reveals alleged parts of the game’s ending.
- The leaker’s crypto coin has plummeted, resulting in the cancellation of a promised 200GB game build.
- Footage viewed by Eurogamer is less dramatic than expected and may contain spoilers.
Cyberleek, the notorious leaker who has been sharing footage from Grand Theft Auto 6 for several weeks, has reportedly ceased their leak activities. A recent video, said to be the final installment, showcases elements presumed to depict parts of the game’s conclusion.
The leaker announced a potential halt in sharing due to the failure of their cryptocurrency initiative. They had committed to releasing a 200GB build of the game contingent upon their crypto coin achieving a $30 million market cap, a goal it is currently far from meeting.
Following a significant surge that coincided with the leak of explicit footage featuring co-protagonist Lucia, the coin’s value has dramatically fallen. This was preceded by the release of similar explicit content featuring co-protagonist Jason.
Eurogamer has reviewed the latest video, noting it does not genuinely reflect the game’s concluding sequence as initially suggested. While the video’s setting could contain spoilers, it ultimately ends with a drone footage montage of various locations accompanied by Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” The context remains unclear, and viewers are advised to avoid it if they wish to experience the game without prior insights.
Cyberleek stated, “The 30m was not reached, so no build,” through a message on their platform, highlighting the risks associated with leaking a substantial 200+ GB file. They emphasized that such an act would only be justified if it supported their secret project.
As of now, Cyberleek’s memecoin market cap has decreased to $1.2 million, a sharp decline from its pinnacle of $7.8 million less than a week ago. It appears they have also moved away from their original strategy of linking gameplay leaks to the coin’s value.
“The leeks stop here. For now,” mentioned Cyberleek, who had previously resurfaced last week after an extended silence, following their earlier leaks in August amid ongoing investigations from Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, and subpoenas issued to Discord and Microsoft.
Despite this apparent conclusion, given Cyberleek’s track record, they may reappear with further content before the official release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19.
