Midday Stock Movements: Independent Bank Surges, Fox Factory Plummets

⚡ Quick Read (30-Sec Summary):

  • Independent Bank shares rise nearly 5% after beating quarterly earnings estimates.
  • Fox Factory’s stock falls 9% following CEO resignation and revenue outlook adjustment.
  • Netflix shares decline 2% amid leadership changes and workforce reduction plans.

Independent Bank, a Michigan-based bank holding company, experienced a nearly 5% increase in its stock after reporting third-quarter earnings that exceeded expectations. The bank reported earnings of $1.90 per share, surpassing the FactSet consensus estimate of $1.85 per share. Additionally, the net interest income of $220.7 million was above the $218.5 million forecast. The bank anticipates a high single-digit annualized growth rate in home equity loans for the fourth quarter.

Shares of Moog, a manufacturer of precision motor control systems, rose more than 4% following an upgrade by Morgan Stanley, which changed its rating from equal weight to overweight. The firm also increased its price target for Moog from $405 to $448, indicating a potential upside of approximately 23% based on Thursday’s closing price. The stock has seen significant growth in 2026, rising over 55% year-to-date.

In contrast, Fox Factory’s stock fell by 9% after CEO Mike Dennison stepped down. Following his departure, the board appointed Douglas Grimm as the interim chief executive. The company also lowered its full-year revenue outlook, contributing to investor concerns.

Truist Financial’s shares saw a 2% increase after reporting third-quarter results, with adjusted earnings per share reaching $1.16, marking a 12% year-over-year growth. The adjusted revenue for the quarter totaled $5.3 billion.

Regions Financial’s stock gained nearly 2% after exceeding third-quarter earnings expectations. The bank reported a profit of 73 cents per share, excluding certain items, while analysts had anticipated earnings of 66 cents per share.

J.B. Hunt’s stock declined by 3% as the trucking giant’s third-quarter results displayed mixed signals. Although revenue of $3.68 billion surpassed an LSEG forecast of $3.57 billion, adjusted earnings per share of $1.82 fell short of the consensus estimate of $1.89 per share.

Tesla’s shares dipped by 1% following the unveiling of its much-anticipated second-generation Roadster. The vehicle incorporates SpaceX-developed rocket-style thrusters and demonstrated aerial maneuvers at the launch event. Tesla posits it as the world’s first flying car, with production slated to commence in 2028.

Alcoa experienced a more than 6% rise in its stock due to stronger-than-expected third-quarter earnings, fueled by a recovery in its alumina business.

CoreWeave faced a 10% decline, as the recent bounce in its shares proved short-lived. Heightened investor anxiety surrounding potential interest rate increases has pressured the highly indebted company.

Finally, Netflix shares experienced a 2% drop following a leadership shake-up, with Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria departing and being replaced by former Disney executive Peter Rice. This transition follows Netflix’s announcement of a plan to reduce its workforce by approximately 6%, equating to about 1,000 jobs.
