- Battlefield Studios acknowledged fan concerns regarding a typo in the ‘Secuty’ label on cosmetics.
- The studio confirmed a correction update related to the typo is planned for Season 5 Phase 2.
- Despite accusations of using AI for the skins, the studio did not confirm or deny such practices.
Battlefield Studios has issued a statement in response to fan accusations of utilizing AI for generating cosmetics, after users observed a typo—’Secuty’—on a skin from Battlefield 6’s Season 5. The studio recognized the “candid feedback” from the player community, asserting that they have “hear[d] your concerns.”
While the statement did not explicitly address the AI allegations, it confirmed that the typo would be rectified in an upcoming “correction update.” Additionally, the studio clarified that the design featuring five pistols is an “intentional creative concept,” likening it to action movie tropes where characters carry multiple backup weapons.
Regarding the typo on the McNeil character, Battlefield Studios explained, “A correction update has already been planned for the Season 5 Phase 2 release.” The studio admitted that allowing a known visual error to persist without acknowledgment can create confusion and diminish player trust. They are currently reviewing their communication process for such visual bugs to ensure clarity moving forward.
In the wake of the typo controversy, the Midnight Mirage skin featuring the five pistols was characterized by the team as a deliberate homage to typical over-the-top action cinema. The statement emphasized the commitment the studio has towards high-quality visuals and expressed frustration over any lapses in this regard.
