Unlock the Thrill of Hard Mode from Day One in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation—No More Endless Grinding!

Date:

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation to Feature Hard Mode from Launch

⚡ Quick Read (30-Sec Summary):

  • Hard Mode will be accessible from the start of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation.
  • Director Naoki Hamaguchi emphasizes a reimagined high-difficulty experience.
  • The game is set to release on April 8, 2027, across multiple platforms.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will allow players to access Hard Mode right from the start, diverging from the previous installments, FF7 Remake and Rebirth, which required players to complete the main story before unlocking the more challenging difficulty level.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed in an interview with Hardcore Gamer that this new Hard Mode isn’t designed the same way as in earlier games. He noted that the team has “reimagined the high-difficulty experience to align with the new game design” for the upcoming final chapter.

In this installment, players will find that the world of Gaia opens earlier in the gameplay. Players, including Cloud and his companions, can navigate directly to challenging battles shortly after acquiring their airship, which necessitated updates to how difficulty is structured in the game.

Hamaguchi stated, “Hard Mode is selectable from the very start of this game. Therefore, players who want to tackle challenging battles and high-difficulty gameplay right from the beginning can enjoy that experience from their very first playthrough.” He also explained that unlike the previous titles, Revelation offers a variety of end-game content, encouraging players to continue engaging with new challenges even after completing the main story.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is anticipated to be a substantial game that could potentially take over 100 hours for completionists, as per Hamaguchi’s comments. This aspect highlights the appeal of starting on Hard Mode, which promises to provide engaging combat experiences throughout.

Additionally, Hamaguchi mentioned in a separate tweet that a Dynamic Mode will launch alongside Hard Mode, similar to what was offered in Rebirth, enabling players to experience consistently challenging battles. The game will also feature adjustable difficulty for its numerous mini-games.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is set to launch on April 8, 2027, for PC, PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S.
