- World of Warcraft: Forever beta extended until this Friday.
- Players can participate in a server stress test today and reserve character names next week.
- Community members shared poignant farewell posts ahead of the original beta end date.
The beta phase for World of Warcraft: Forever has been extended until this Friday, much to the excitement of early players. This announcement was made by Clayton Stone, Associate Production Director for World of Warcraft, via X.
The extension grants players currently engaged in their journey from level 1 to 30 a bit more time before the servers go offline for the weekend. In addition, Blizzard is hosting a server stress test today, which will allow players, including those without beta access, to test the game’s limits.
Following the closure of the servers on Friday, players will have the opportunity to reserve character names in preparation for the full launch scheduled for November 4th.
This beta extension has led to a wave of farewell messages from the community, with many players posting nostalgic tributes to the game before the original beta end date. For instance, Reddit user Roodster123 created a post titled “This is where I leave you little one. We had a good run. Until we meet again,” depicting a gnome overlooking the Stormwind docks.
Similarly, another user, No_Staff_6299, expressed sentiments in a post titled “Wait for me Kitten, I’ll be back soon,” featuring their character in tears as they dismiss a beloved pet spider. In World of Warcraft, a hunter’s pet holds significant value, and capturing a new pet to replace one that has been dismissed will likely evoke different memories. The comments under this post are filled with fellow hunters sharing their own bittersweet stories, including user Thirteenera, who expressed condolences by saying, “Let’s pour one out for u/No_Staff_6299.”
As the beta nears its conclusion, players agree that World of Warcraft: Forever has provided an impressive glimpse into the forthcoming MMO, enhancing excitement for those eager to revisit Azeroth, while highlighting the disappointing timing for those unable to take time off work to continue playing.
