The Duskbloods Delayed to 2027
- The Duskbloods, developed by FromSoftware, is postponed from a 2026 launch to an unspecified date in 2027.
- Official communication cites the need for additional development time following a network test.
- Interest in the game appears robust, with more applicants than Elden Ring Nightreign during the closed network test.
FromSoftware’s upcoming title, The Duskbloods, has been officially delayed from its projected launch in 2026 to a new, unspecified timeframe in 2027. In a tweet from the game’s official Twitter account, it was stated, “While development of The Duskbloods is at the final adjustment stage, we have made the decision to move the launch window to 2027. We apologize to players who have been kindly awaiting the release of this title and thank you for your patience and support.”
A follow-up message also addressed the results of a recent network test, noting, “During the network test, we saw active interest in the core concepts of the game, including combat, strategic depth, and player expression. To further enhance these aspects, we have decided to move the launch, allowing time for final adjustments to game rules and balancing.”
Previously, there was speculation that The Duskbloods might release in September, but that date passed without any announcement. There has been a lack of communication from both Nintendo, the publisher, and FromSoftware, the developer, since the playtests in August, leading to doubts about the game’s initially outlined 2026 release window.
Despite the delays, interest in The Duskbloods remains high; the closed network test attracted more participants than the previous Elden Ring Nightreign, an impressive feat considering The Duskbloods is set to release exclusively on the Switch 2.
Delaying the game’s launch may allow for improved stability, especially as issues plagued the network test. The first session was cut short due to significant connectivity problems, which were resolved in subsequent sessions. Fans are hopeful that the final release will provide a more stable gaming experience.
