Nintendo Announces Switch 2 Release Dates for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and 3, Plus All-New Xenoblade Genesis for 2027
Nintendo has officially pulled back the curtain on the upcoming Switch 2 versions of its acclaimed role-playing franchise, dropping major release dates and crossover content. A brand-new overview trailer revealed that the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 Edition will launch digitally alongside an upgrade pack on July 30, followed by a physical release on October 1. Fans won’t have to wait much longer for subsequent entries, as the Switch 2 Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 locks in its digital, physical, and upgrade pack release for December 3.
Xenosaga Crossover and Brand-New Franchise Entry Revealed
The newly unveiled overview trailers delivered major treats for franchise purists, highlighting that the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Switch 2 Edition will introduce Momo from Xenosaga as a playable Rare Blade. Looking further into the future of the series, Nintendo also confirmed that an entirely new installment, Xenoblade Genesis, is officially scheduled to launch for the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
