Dive Deeper: Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass and Underwater Update Hit August 5!
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have officially dropped a massive extended trailer revealing that the cozy-style life simulation crafting game Pokémon Pokopia is getting a wave of fresh content. Landing on August 5, the major update and Part 1 of the paid Expansion Pass—titled “Bubbly Basin”—will introduce an underwater town, brand-new abilities like “Dive” to explore existing areas beneath the waves, and a lineup of fan-favorite aquatic Pokémon including Manaphy, Mudkip, Popplio, and Totodile. Developed by Koei Tecmo for the Nintendo Switch 2, the expansion roadmap also promises player accessories in late 2026 and an additional town in 2027, alongside exclusive in-game bonuses for early buyers.
More Major Franchise Drops: Pokémon Champions and Winds/Waves Slate
Beyond the Pokopia expansion, the Pokémon universe is gearing up for a massive lineup of upcoming releases across platforms. The battle-focused mobile title Pokémon Champions is locked in for an iOS and Android launch on June 17, with pre-registrations officially open. Meanwhile, mainline enthusiasts have even more to look forward to, as the brand-new Pokémon Winds/Waves games have been confirmed for a worldwide Nintendo Switch 2 release in 2027, continuing the franchise’s monumental generation rollout.
