Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost to Shut Down Following Developer Ambition’s Closure
The popular mobile game Bungo Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost is officially coming to an end. Official Japanese and English websites for the smartphone game announced that service will officially shut down on Friday, July 31, following the closure of its developer, Ambition. Originally launched in Japan in 2017, the game made its English debut in July 2018 before navigating several management shifts between Ambition and Crunchyroll over the years.
A Massive Franchise Built on Manga and Anime Success
While the mobile game adaptation is closing its doors, Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa’s broader Bungo Stray Dogs universe remains as active as ever. Since launching in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in December 2012, the original manga has spawned a massive multimedia franchise, including five hit anime television seasons, the 2018 theatrical film Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple, the Bungo Stray Dogs Wan! spinoff series, and even a newer smartphone game titled Gakuen Bungō Stray Dogs launched by NextNinja.
