Josh Richards Comments on Public Filming Debate Sparked by Dave Portnoy

In a recent social media discussion prompted by Barstool Sports cohost Dave Portnoy, influencer Josh Richards shared his thoughts on the etiquette of capturing content in public spaces. This conversation arose after Portnoy expressed his frustration over a “no influencers” sign on the Cape Cod island, igniting online debate.

Richards addressed the topic during an exclusive interview with E! News hosts Eyal Booker and Lonnie Marts IV, stating, “I think any type of people can ruin s–t. Like, how do you carry yourself?” He emphasized that the issue extends beyond influencers, noting that it reflects a broader trend among Gen Z individuals regarding boundaries around filming in public.

He further explained, “I think that’s not so much an influencer thing, it’s more of a Gen Z thing where they don’t have respect or boundaries around filming people or when it’s appropriate to take out a phone.” Richards highlighted a shift in social norms, adding, “If you went back 15 years ago and someone whipped out their cell phone and started videoing in the middle of a restaurant, people would be like, ‘What the f–k?!'”
