Ben Shelton Defends National Bank Open Title Against Brandon Nakashima
MONTREAL — In an all-American final on Thursday night, Ben Shelton successfully defended his title at the National Bank Open, defeating Brandon Nakashima with a score of 6-3, 7-6 (4). This victory marks Shelton’s seventh career ATP Tour win, contributing to a successful year that also includes titles in Dallas, Munich, and Stuttgart.
The fifth-seeded Shelton, who claimed the Canadian tournament title last year in Toronto, displayed impressive form throughout the event, not dropping a single set. In contrast, the 28th-seeded Nakashima, who secured his sole ATP Tour title in 2022 in San Diego, sought his second championship but fell short in the final match.
