Mikel Arteta Assures Arsenal Fans He Is Happy Despite Contract Situation

Mikel Arteta has reassured Arsenal supporters that they need not be concerned about his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the season. The manager, who joined the club in December 2019, emphasized his desire to remain at Arsenal even as discussions regarding an extension have been postponed to prioritize the summer transfer window.

In remarks ahead of the Community Shield match against Manchester City in Cardiff, Arteta stated, “They [the fans] don’t have to worry about any of that, because I want to be here. I am extremely happy. I feel very grateful to work with the people that I work with and when we have the possibility, we will resolve that. And that’s it.” He further added that the timing of the contract issue is not a concern for anyone involved, noting, “I think because my will, certainly, is to be here and I am very happy here. My feeling from the club is the same one. That is why everyone is doing things in a really organic way.”

Owners Kroenke Sports Enterprises are keen to secure Arteta’s future given the progress the team has made, including their first Premier League title since 2004. As Arsenal turns its attention to player acquisitions, the focus remains on strengthening the squad while Arteta’s contract situation is treated as a secondary priority.
