Chicago Fire Defeats Orlando City 2-1 Amid Weather Delay
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Chicago Fire secured a 2-1 victory against Orlando City on Wednesday night, with Robert Lewandowski netting a decisive penalty and Puso Dithejane contributing an early goal. The match faced a 90-minute delay due to inclement weather.
Dithejane opened the scoring for the Fire in the fourth minute, striking from just inside the top of the box. The Fire maintained their lead until the second half when Orlando’s David Brekalo equalized in the 52nd minute, redirecting a corner kick delivered by Antoine Griezmann.
With the result, Orlando City fell to 6-11-3 on the season. The historical rivalry between the two teams showed Orlando with a record of 8-9-8 against the Fire, including 5-4-3 at home.
