Hayden Panettiere has died at the age of 36, as confirmed by her father, Skip Panettiere, in a statement shared on August 16. “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” he wrote, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”

Just three months before her passing, the actress published her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning. In this book, Panettiere, known for her roles in television series such as Nashville and Heroes, as well as films like Ice Princess and Bring It On: All or Nothing, discussed her struggles with substance use and mental health, alongside the challenges she faced in the entertainment industry. She also reflected on personal tragedies, including the death of her younger brother, Jansen Panettiere, and her choice to live apart from her daughter, who resides in Ukraine with her former partner, Wladimir Klitschko. She expressed a desire to help others, stating, “I just wanted to help people. I want what I have gone through to be for a reason. To have everything have happened for a reason.”
