Boeing’s stock increased by 2% after the announcement of a significant $20 billion contract with the Department of Defense to develop the Sixth-Generation F/A-XX Strike Fighter. This news comes amidst competition in the defense sector, as Northrop Grumman, which was also vying for the contract, experienced a drop in its stock, falling 3.5%.
Robinhood Markets also saw positive movement in its stock, rising by 2%. This uptick followed the company’s announcement of the introduction of an in-app AI agent aimed at assisting traders. Additionally, Robinhood revealed plans to facilitate 24/7 trading for certain stocks and to introduce perpetual futures for its U.S. users in the near future.
In contrast, Concentrix faced a considerable decline, with its shares dropping 9.5% after reporting fiscal third-quarter revenues that fell slightly short of expectations. The company’s guidance for non-GAAP earnings per share and revenue for the upcoming quarter also did not meet analyst estimates. During its earnings conference call, Concentrix indicated that its transition to AI technology is exerting pressure on revenues.
Moderna’s stock experienced a decline of more than 6% after Citi downgraded it to a “sell.” Analysts from the bank set a price target for Moderna that is 60% lower than its closing price on Tuesday, deeming the current valuation unjustifiable.
FormFactor’s shares saw a slight increase of 1%, following Deutsche Bank’s initiation of coverage with a buy rating. Analysts noted that the company is well-positioned to benefit from an increase in chip testing demand, particularly as it has become the second source of probe cards for Nvidia’s GPUs at TSMC.
Lastly, Cal-Maine Foods’ stock fell by over 6.5% after reporting a loss of $1.26 per share for its fiscal first quarter, which was significantly larger than the anticipated loss of 77 cents per share, according to estimates from analysts who were polled by FactSet.
