Behaviour Interactive Hiring for New Sci-Fi FPS Project
- Behaviour Interactive is recruiting for a new, unannounced “triple-A Sci-Fi FPS” project.
- The game will utilize Unreal Engine and aims for a “high realism bar.”
- Behaviour’s recent self-published title, Meet Your Maker, is transitioning to maintenance mode.
Behaviour Interactive, the Canadian studio renowned for the asymmetrical multiplayer horror survival game Dead by Daylight, is seeking talent for a new project markedly different from its prior work.
A recent job listing on Behaviour’s website (via Insider Gaming) indicates the studio is looking for a senior technical animator for an unannounced “triple-A Sci-Fi FPS” being developed with Unreal Engine. The listing specifies that the shooter is expected to maintain “a high realism bar.”
Over the last decade, Behaviour’s flagship title has been Dead by Daylight, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary by achieving a new concurrent player record on Steam. Despite this focus, the studio has also worked on other titles for third-party publishers, including Serious Sam: Shatterverse, Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains, and the mobile game Worms Across Worlds.
In 2023, Behaviour self-published Meet Your Maker, a building game where players invade custom fortresses crafted by others to loot resources. The title allowed players to design a variety of traps and devices to challenge their opponents.
However, despite a solid initial reception, the game did not meet Behaviour’s long-term sustainability criteria, leading the studio to announce in 2024 that it would enter maintenance mode as the team transitioned to new projects.
Additionally, Behaviour has another upcoming title in development: Exterminauts, which is a co-op PvE shooter featuring three players battling alien adversaries with recycled weapons and tools. Notably, Exterminauts is a third-person shooter, which differentiates it from the newly announced FPS project, and it currently lacks a confirmed release date.
