  • Webull’s stock plummeted 20% due to national security concerns.
  • NetApp and Penguin Solutions saw gains after positive earnings reports.

In the latest market developments, bank stocks faced pressure as longer-dated Treasury yields surged to levels not experienced in 24 years. Shares of Citigroup, Wells Fargo, and Goldman Sachs each fell nearly 2%, while JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Morgan Stanley saw declines around 1%.

Webull’s stock experienced a dramatic 20% drop following a report by CNBC, which indicated that a congressional panel raised national security concerns regarding the company’s ties to the Chinese government.

Conversely, NetApp’s shares rose by 3% after receiving an upgrade from Evercore ISI, which raised the stock’s rating to “outperform.” Analysts noted that NetApp has “upside without needing a significant contribution from products that are only beginning to ramp.”

Worthington Steel’s stock plummeted 10% after the company reported a significant decline in first-quarter earnings compared to the previous year. The adjusted earnings came in at 57 cents per share, down from 77 cents a year earlier, reflecting the impact of the acquisition of a majority interest in Klöckner & Co.

Shares of Penguin Solutions, which specializes in artificial intelligence factory platforms, surged 15% following fourth-quarter results that exceeded expectations. The company reported adjusted earnings of $1 per share on revenue of $566.7 million, significantly surpassing analyst projections of 77 cents per share and $521 million in revenue.

Additionally, Constellation Brands saw its shares increase by 2% after reporting better-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results, with earnings of $3.74 per share on revenue of $2.63 billion, outpacing the anticipated profit of $3.55 per share on revenue of $2.54 billion.

Micron’s shares rose 3% after D.A. Davidson projected that the chipmaker could triple, emphasizing that “AI models generate better results with more memory,” driving demand that is expected to exceed supply in 2027 and 2028.
