Shockwaves in Premarket: What’s Behind the Wild Swings of HAE, AVGO, LULU, and WOLF?

Date:

Premarket Stocks: Haemonetics Soars 8%, Wolfspeed Gains 15%

⚡ Quick Read (30-Sec Summary):

  • Haemonetics shares climbed 8% on CSL’s rollout plan for its plasmapheresis platform by end of 2027.
  • Wolfspeed surged over 15% following a $1.5 billion conditional loan from the Defense Department.
  • Broadcom dipped 2%, while Applied Digital reported a 322% increase in quarterly revenue.

Several companies made notable premarket stock movements today. Haemonetics, a provider of blood and plasma products, saw an 8% increase after CSL announced its expectation to complete the rollout of Haemonetics’ plasmapheresis platform across the United States by the end of 2027.

Wolfspeed, a semiconductor manufacturer, experienced a more than 15% surge in shares after securing a conditional loan of $1.5 billion from the Defense Department. This financing, committed over a 30-year period, is intended to bolster domestic production, with the Pentagon potentially acquiring warrants for up to 7.5% of the company.

In contrast, Broadcom’s shares decreased nearly 2% in premarket trading. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the chipmaker is in the process of arranging over $50 billion in financing related to the custom AI chips it is developing in collaboration with OpenAI.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), recognized as the world’s largest contract chipmaker, reported a revenue growth of 54.6% year-over-year for September. This increase has driven its third-quarter revenue to $16.03 billion, surpassing expectations; however, shares were down about 1% early in trading.

Lululemon saw its shares fall approximately 1% following the announcement that former Nike executive Maggie Gauger will assume the role of chief product officer, while Joseph Godsey will serve as chief operating officer. These changes are part of CEO Heidi O’Neill’s strategy to rejuvenate growth and reset the company’s North American business.

Levi Strauss’s stock declined nearly 3% after the company reported third-quarter revenue of $1.61 billion, which fell slightly short of expectations. Although adjusted earnings exceeded estimates, direct-to-consumer sales diminished in both the U.S. and Europe, leading to a less optimistic sales outlook for the denim retailer.

Applied Digital’s shares increased by 1% after the company announced its fiscal first-quarter revenue of nearly $342 million, reflecting a staggering 322% increase year-over-year. The growth was fueled by a significant expansion in its AI data-center business. CEO Wes Cummins stated that a Tier 1 hyperscaler is developing a self-build data center in North Dakota, highlighting rising demand for AI infrastructure in the region.
