- Escape the Backrooms has surpassed 12 million players since its 2022 Early Access launch.
Escape the Backrooms is set to launch the After Party update this December, introducing three new levels to the co-op horror game. Publisher Secret Mode confirmed this announcement on October 8, shortly after it was teased during the Triple-I Initiative showcase. This event also featured news from the developer of El Paso, Elsewhere, regarding their upcoming title Gods With Badges.
The After Party aims to foster a festive atmosphere within the game, featuring new skins to enhance player customization. Alongside indulging in celebratory cake, players will still need to navigate the dangers posed by the entities lurking in the Backrooms.
Additionally, players can expect a selection of both free and paid cosmetic options to be released in October, which will allow participants to dress as entities, enhancing the scare factor while playing with friends.
Escape the Backrooms, developed by Fancy Games, has attracted over 12 million players since its Early Access launch in 2022. The game supports one to four players and offers more than 30 levels, accessible on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. A successful Hollywood film adaptation has also been produced.
Furthermore, there are ongoing developments for film and TV adaptations of Arc Raiders and The Finals, with Embark Studios collaborating with Chernin Entertainment, which is linked to the team behind A24’s Backrooms film.
