- BlackRock’s stock rose 3% after beating earnings expectations with adjusted earnings of $15.93 per share.
- Albemarle shares jumped 3% following an upgrade by Mizuho, citing strong lithium demand.
Bank of America experienced a 4% decline in its share price after reporting a sharp decrease in third-quarter profit, primarily attributed to a $1.2 billion penalty imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department for money-laundering violations. The company reported a profit of 91 cents per share, a 17% decline, but noted that profit would have been $1.08 per share without the penalty.
BlackRock shares increased by 3% as the asset management firm announced it had surpassed earnings and revenue expectations. Adjusted earnings were reported at $15.93 per share, significantly higher than the $14.13 per share anticipated by analysts from LSEG. Additionally, the company’s assets under management rose to $15.49 trillion, compared to $13.46 trillion a year prior.
Shares of ASML, the Dutch semiconductor company, fell 1% after its third-quarter sales slightly missed analysts’ expectations, totaling 11.66 billion euros, compared to the forecasted 11.72 billion euros. Despite this, the company’s net profit exceeded expectations.
GameStop’s stock price climbed 2% following the disclosure from CEO and Chairman Ryan Cohen that he purchased 844,000 shares in a recent regulatory filing.
Albemarle’s shares surged by 3% after Mizuho upgraded the stock from neutral to outperform. Mizuho analysts indicated that lithium demand is exceeding expectations, allowing Albemarle to leverage its improved balance sheet.
In contrast, shares of Dell Technologies and Hewlett Packard Enterprise fell more than 2.5% and nearly 4%, respectively, after Barclays downgraded both stocks from overweight to equal weight. Despite strong rallies in 2026—with Dell rising over 350% and HPE increasing 185%—analysts expressed skepticism about the sustainability of these gains.
Finally, Morgan Stanley saw a modest share increase of 0.4% after reporting an earnings and revenue beat in its third-quarter financial results. While equity revenues surpassed expectations, revenues from its investment banking segment fell short of estimates.
