Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Unleashes Epic Final Update: What Surprising Features Awaits in New Game Plus?

Date:

Ubisoft Launches Major Update for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced

⚡ Quick Read (30-Sec Summary):

  • Update 1.0.8 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced releases today, October 27, on multiple platforms.
  • New Game Plus mode and Nightmare Mode introduced, along with various bug fixes and enhancements.
  • This update is the last major patch before the game moves to Switch 2.

Ubisoft has announced the release of Update 1.0.8 for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, its final major patch. This update will be available today, October 27, at 7 AM PT, 10 AM ET, and 2 PM UK time across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. While the download size ranges from 2 to 4.5 GB on most platforms, Xbox users will experience a larger download of 15.5 GB.

One of the most significant features added in this update is the New Game Plus (NG+) mode, which Ubisoft began developing in July after launching Resynced. Players can transfer much of their progress to NG+, though certain items will not carry over. The following assets will be retained:

  • All of Edward’s tools, upgrades, unlocked weapons, and trinkets.
  • All upgrades for the Jackdaw, along with unlocked officer abilities and pets, though officers will need to be recruited again.
  • All inventory assets including money, materials, trade goods, and customizable outfits.
  • Hideout progression, perks, and art collections.
  • All ships from the Kenway fleet.
  • All Codex items, including completed treasure maps.
  • Items purchased from the store.

However, quest-related items will not transfer, and players will need to re-capture forts since NG+ resets the map’s fog of war. Additionally, NG+ introduces a new currency called Escudos, earned through challenges and previously unlocked chests. These can be used to purchase exclusive outfits and items, which can also be acquired by converting Reales at the General Store.

The difficulty level will escalate with each NG+ run, featuring more elite soldiers and higher-ranked ships. Players can complete NG+ up to five times, with each completion intensifying the challenge.

Patch 1.0.8 also adds Nightmare Mode, characterized by increased enemy reaction times and damage output, along with tighter parry timings. A critical change in this mode is the removal of the one-shot kill safety, making it possible for players to experience instant deaths even when they have remaining health, aiming to enhance the game’s intensity.

Additionally, players will discover new community chests across the game world, alongside new cosmetics, takedown animations, and numerous bug fixes. A complete change log is available on the official Assassin’s Creed website. Although this marks Black Flag Resynced’s last major update, the game is reportedly moving to the Switch 2, which is expected to include all previously released content.
