GTA 6 Launches with a 210GB Download Size
- Grand Theft Auto 6 has a confirmed download size of 210GB.
- Uncertainty remains regarding the need for a day one patch.
- Release date is set for November 19, with pre-loading starting on November 12.
New information from PlayStation Game Size indicates that Grand Theft Auto 6 will require a significant download size of 210GB. This figure represents the initial download requirement, although the space the game occupies on a console’s SSD may be less.
It’s currently unclear if the 210GB includes a potential day one patch, or if that will be an additional requirement. Given the game’s anticipated popularity, further updates are expected as tracking continues.
GTA 6 is projected to offer extensive content, featuring a highly detailed and expansive open-world map with an array of side activities, as well as a lengthy cinematic storyline. These elements contribute to the sizable file.
Despite its 210GB size being substantial, it is comparable to other major titles on the PlayStation 5, such as Call of Duty, known for its large file sizes. The situation may be more complex for GTA 6, especially with the forthcoming GTA Online component built on the same single-player content.
GTA 6 is set to launch on November 19 for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-loading opportunities beginning on November 12 to facilitate the large download.
