Sony’s Bend Studio to Announce New Title in 2027
- Bend Studio’s next game is set for announcement and release in 2027.
- The game is a third-person title featuring co-op support, but no live service elements.
- It is not a sequel to Days Gone and is reportedly further along in development than previously thought.
Sony’s Bend Studio is reportedly working on its next game, with an announcement and release anticipated in 2027. This information comes from MP1st, which cites “people aware of what’s happening at Bend.” Like the studio’s previous title, Days Gone, the new game will also be in third-person perspective and will include co-op support, though it will not feature live service elements.
While it remains unclear whether the upcoming game is based on a new intellectual property (IP) or an existing one, it has been confirmed that it will not be a sequel to Days Gone. According to the report, the game is said to be “much further along in development” than what might be assumed, reflecting the studio’s silence over the past few years.
The period since the release of Days Gone in 2019 has been challenging for Bend Studio. In 2022, the developer indicated its next project would be a new IP that builds on the open-world systems introduced in Days Gone and would include multiplayer elements.
In 2024, a job post described a game in development as a triple-A live service project, but that unannounced game was cancelled in 2025, which led to a significant wave of layoffs at Bend shortly afterward. Following the cancellation of the live service project, it is now evident that the studio has pivoted to its next project.
As 2026 nears its conclusion, anticipation builds around the eventual unveiling of this new game from Bend Studio.
