Baki Reborn in Another World: Retsu Kaioh’s Isekai Spin-Off Manga Gets Official Stage Play Adaptation
The legendary, over-the-top martial arts world of Keisuke Itagaki’s Baki is taking a wild fantasy detour to the stage. The staff behind the Baki The Grappler stage productions announced that Baki Gaiden: Retsu Kaioh wa Isekai Tensei Shitemo Ikkō ni Kamawan (Baki Side Story – Retsu Kaioh Doesn’t Mind At All If He Gets Reincarnated in Another World) is officially getting its own theatrical adaptation. Fans can mark their calendars, as the stage play is slated to run from March 19 to March 22, 2027, at Owl Spot (Toshima Ward Performing Arts Exchange Center) in Tokyo.
From Underground Arena to Fantasy Realm: The Ultimate Kenpo Master’s Isekai Journey
The upcoming production brings back familiar talent to helm the bizarre crossover, featuring Riku Noma reprising his role as the formidable Kenpo master Retsu Kaioh after starring in the franchise’s two previous stage plays. He will be joined by returning director and writer Daisuke Tanaka. Originally launched in Akita Shoten’s Monthly Shōnen Champion in 2020 with art by Eiji Mutsui and a story by Sai Ihara based on Itagaki’s original concept, the spin-off manga follows Retsu Kaioh’s legendary reincarnation into a fantasy realm following his fatal clash with the legendary swordsman Musashi Miyamoto.
