Brooks Laich Marries Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir in Intimate Lakeside Ceremony
Former NHL star Brooks Laich wed CrossFit champion Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir on August 15 at their lakeside home near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The couple celebrated with 110 guests, marking a significant milestone in their relationship of over five years.
In an interview with People published on August 18, Laich described the wedding as “a dream come true for both of us.” Davíðsdóttir emphasized that they knew from the beginning that they wanted the ceremony to take place at their home, stating, “We knew we wanted to get married here, just welcome everybody here.”
The couple, who share a 10-month-old daughter named Emberly, approached their wedding weekend with a relaxed attitude. Davíðsdóttir reflected on their philosophy for the day, saying, “I was like, ‘We just want to be on an adventure. Whatever happens, happens. And if it doesn’t go according to perfect plan, that’s OK.’”
The laid-back atmosphere was maintained throughout the celebration, which had a destination wedding vibe due to family traveling from afar. To kick off the three-day event, Laich, 43, and Davíðsdóttir, 33, hosted a welcoming dinner at Elk Point, ensuring that guests felt comfortable and at ease during the festivities.
