Hayden Panettiere Found Dead at 36 in Greenville, South Carolina

Hayden Panettiere, the actress known for her role in the television series “Nashville,” was pronounced dead on August 16, 2023, in Greenville, South Carolina, just a day after traveling from Los Angeles with her on-and-off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson.

Authorities responded to a call reporting an “unresponsive female.” Upon arrival, Greenville officials provided medical assistance but declared Panettiere dead at the scene. A police press release indicated that she was identified on-site.

The Greenville Police Department, in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, is investigating the case. Initial inquiries have not revealed any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. It has been confirmed that an “acquaintance” of Panettiere made the 911 call, although they have not disclosed the individual’s identity.

In a 911 dispatch call obtained by media outlets, it was reported that an apparent “overdose” occurred, and CPR was ongoing. An autopsy performed by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office on August 17 found no signs of trauma that could have contributed to her death. The final cause and manner of death are still pending further investigation and additional studies.

E! News has attempted to reach Hickerson for a statement but has not received a response.
