Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio Honors Late Friend Tyler Duckworth
Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio has paid tribute to his close friend and fellow reality star Tyler Duckworth, who passed away at the age of 44. In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram on August 15, Devenanzio expressed his deep connection to Duckworth, stating, “You were more than a friend. More than a roommate. You were the brother I never had. Rest easy, Tyler. You’ll always be family.”
Ending his tribute, Devenanzio included a reference to a Bible verse, Psalm 147:3, which reads, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” This poignant message reflects the emotional weight of his loss.
As part of his tribute, Devenanzio also performed “Pink Skies” by Zach Bryan on guitar, sharing videos and photographs that captured moments from Duckworth’s life, including their experiences together on MTV’s The Challenge. The montage featured an especially touching segment from The Challenge: Rivals in 2011, underscoring the bond they shared.
Devenanzio and Duckworth first met in 2006 while rooming together on The Real World: Key West. They subsequently faced off against each other on The Challenge: The Duel later that same year, marking the start of their longstanding friendship.
