Perez Hilton Hospitalized for Self-Harm; Family Shares Distressing Incident

Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., was recently hospitalized following a self-harm incident that occurred during an August 4 livestream. His sister, Barbara Lavandeira, provided a firsthand account of the traumatic event.

In an interview with Page Six, published on August 13, Lavandeira described August 4 as “one of the darkest days” for their family. She noted that Hilton, 48, was unusually secluded, with his bedroom door closed and locked—a stark contrast to his typical behavior of keeping it open.

Concerns arose when Hilton ceased responding to her calls. Lavandeira decided to unlock his bedroom door and entered the bathroom, where she encountered a distressing scene. “When I opened the door, my nightmare became a reality,” she recounted, describing Hilton as standing in front of the shower, naked and bloodied, holding a box cutter in his hand.
