Authorities Urge Public for Help in Search for Nancy Guthrie, 84, Who Requires Daily Medication
As the search continues for Nancy Guthrie, officials have highlighted the critical need for her daily medication, which she is currently likely without. At a press conference on February 2, local authorities stressed that without this medication, Nancy’s survival could be at risk within 24 hours.
“This is an 84-year-old lady who suffers from some physical ailments,” said Detective Nanos during the press briefing. “She has some physical challenges and is in need of medication that, if she doesn’t have in 24 hours, could be fatal.” He made a public plea, urging anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact authorities. “Call 911. We don’t need another bad, tragic ending. We need some help,” he added.
Nanos also reassured the community about Nancy’s mental state, stating that her cognitive abilities are intact. “Nancy Guthrie is of a great sound mind,” he emphasized. “This is not dementia-related. She is as sharp as a tack.” He noted that her physical limitations stem solely from her age and reiterated that she did not simply wander off.
As the investigation progresses, Nanos expressed hope for Nancy’s safe return. “I hope we find her safe and sound,” he stated, “but we cannot ignore what’s in front of us.”
