Adult Dōjin Adaptation The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring Sets October Premiere and Unveils Main Cast
Get ready for a chillingly romantic supernatural twist this fall, as the television anime adaptation of Puuzaki Puuna’s adult dōjin manga—officially titled The Lonely Snow Widow and the Cursed Ring—premieres in October on Tokyo MX and BS11, with OceanVeil handling streaming duties. Director Kazuomi Koga is leading the project at Studio Hōkiboshi, backed by series scriptwriter Eeyo Kurosaki, character designer Minakyawa Akapiv, and chief animation director Miyako Nishida. The main voice cast features Harumichi Shidō as apartment manager Satoru Takahashi, Rikka Kitami as the snow woman Mifuyu Yukino, and Sara Ayumi as Kaede Kiryuin.
A Magical Ring Sparks an Unstoppable Supernatural Romance
Set in a modern world where humans and yōkai coexist, the story kicks off when building manager Satoru angers his secret crush, the socially aloof widowed snow woman Mifuyu. Desperate to make amends, Satoru uses a mysterious ring meant to aid in communicating with yōkai—only to find himself relentlessly pursued by a suddenly forward Mifuyu. Creator Puuzaki Puuna noted that this marks a groundbreaking direct-to-TV anime adaptation for an adult dōjin manga without a prior commercial version, and confirmed that the series will feature an original storyline diverging from the original English-released volumes.
