Evil Empire has announced that a demo for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will be available starting October 1, 2023. This demo will be accessible on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Players who download the demo will have the opportunity to play through the entire first chapter of the game. Progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game when it launches on October 14, 2023. The demo is expected to run at 60 frames per second across most platforms, while the Switch aims for a target of 30 frames per second.
The demo chapter will provide the same experience that previewers, including Eurogamer, encountered earlier this year. Notably, Eurogamer’s preview highlighted Rose Belmont’s journey as a compelling mix of classic and contemporary action-platformer elements.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse marks the first project in a series of upcoming initiatives from Konami concerning the Castlevania franchise. While details regarding future projects are not yet disclosed, the success of the recent Netflix adaptation has sparked a renewed interest in reviving the series. Fans are hopeful that Konami can achieve success with Castlevania similar to that seen with the Silent Hill franchise, particularly with the recent release of Silent Hill: Townfall.
