Until Dawn 2 Priced at £45 for Pre-Order on PlayStation Store
- Until Dawn 2 is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store at £45.
- The game features a new setting, Akishima Island, and a cast with one returning character.
- It is developed by Firesprite Games and is set for release on January 28th.
The highly anticipated choice-and-consequence horror game, Until Dawn 2, has a confirmed release date and is now available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store. The PS5-exclusive title is priced at £45 on the UK PlayStation Store, as noted by Push Square, making it a more affordable option compared to the typical full-priced game.
This pricing is significant when examining the current lineup of first-party PlayStation Studios titles, which includes this year’s Saros at £70, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls at £60, and Marvel’s Wolverine set to release later this month for £70.
While the lower price is welcomed by many, it raises questions about the game’s length and overall experience. Could this pricing indicate a shorter adventure than players might expect from such a title?
Until Dawn 2 shifts away from the snowy lodge environment of its predecessor to a tropical resort called Akishima Island. The game features an entirely new cast of characters, except for one familiar face: Peter Stormare returns as Dr. Hill.
Interestingly, Unlike the original game developed by Supermassive Games, Until Dawn 2 is being developed by Firesprite Games, with contributions from Dispatch developer AdHoc Studio.
As a point of nostalgia, the original Until Dawn celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. Creative director Will Byles reflected on the game’s impact on cinematic horror storytelling and shared insights about the last-minute marketing pull by Sony ahead of its release.
Until Dawn 2 is set to launch on January 28, 2024, exclusively for PS5.
