Blizzard Announces World of Warcraft: Forever

Blizzard has officially unveiled World of Warcraft: Forever, the long-anticipated “Classic+” experience. This announcement followed the opening ceremony of BlizzCon, where the game’s launch date was confirmed for November 4.
Previously, speculation from fans arose when dataminers identified colors on Blizzard’s website tagged as “wow 2”, hinting at the rumored World of Warcraft Camelot or “Classic Plus” experience.
For those eager to experience the game early, beta access will commence on September 17 for players who have pre-purchased select upgrade packs.
During a dedicated panel at BlizzCon, notable developers including senior game director Ion Hazzikostas and lead Classic designer Tim Jones discussed the innovative regions, systems, and design principles behind this new installment.
Blizzard has positioned Forever as a complementary addition to WoW, alongside Modern and Classic, rather than a replacement. The game is set in a specific timeline within WoW lore, situated after the Forsaken Kingdom campaign but prior to the original Molten Core raid. Players will return to the original continents, with a maximum level cap of 60.
World of Warcraft: Forever will launch with three new zones, over 1,000 new quests, nine new dungeons, and two new raids designed for both 10 and 20-player groups. Additionally, players can expect new races and classes, including the newly introduced playable race called the Skyborne.
Access to Forever will be included with an existing World of Warcraft subscription, eliminating the need for a separate purchase. Players can opt for additional upgrade packs, such as the Skyborne Heroic Pack, granting early access to the Skyborne race and a starting zone. The more expensive Skyborne Epic Pack includes beta access, a month of Game Time, and additional cosmetics.
