Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 Quickly Sells Out
- The Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary special edition Switch 2 sold out within hours of preorders.
- Scalpers are reselling the console on eBay for prices ranging from $700 to $985.
- The console launches on 29th October, ahead of the Ocarina of Time remake on 5th November.
Nintendo’s limited edition Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 became unavailable just hours after preorders began, prompting scalpers to resell units for nearly double the retail price on eBay.
Earlier this week, Nintendo unveiled a new console featuring Link-green Joy-Cons and a design inspired by the iconic Triforce. The release will also include a themed Switch 2 Pro Controller and carry case.
The retail price for the console was set at approximately £435, which is £15 more than the standard Switch 2. As demand surged, all units sold out quickly, and Nintendo has not yet made any announcements regarding restocking or availability through its own store.
According to GamesRadar+, listings for the console on eBay range from $700 to $985 (approximately £520 to £730). Some sellers are bundling the console with the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake, despite no official bundle being offered by Nintendo.
The Zelda-themed Switch 2 is slated for release on 29th October, one week before the highly anticipated Ocarina of Time remake, set to launch on 5th November.
