Neko Health to Open First U.S. Office in Manhattan on September 24

Neko Health, a health-scanning startup founded by Spotify co-founder Daniel Ek and CEO Hjalmar Nilsonne, is set to expand into the U.S. market with its first American office opening on September 24. The new location will be situated at 300 Lafayette Street in SoHo, a neighborhood in Manhattan known for its luxury shopping.

The company claims that over 25,000 individuals in New York have joined a waitlist to utilize its services. Neko Health has developed proprietary body-scanning technology, which it combines with bloodwork and data from fitness devices to assess overall health.

Currently, Neko Health operates facilities in the U.K. and Sweden. Following a successful $700 million Series C funding round last month, the company reported that approximately 100,000 scans have already been conducted.

Neko Health is part of a growing trend of health scanning companies founded by technology entrepreneurs or supported by venture capitalists. Other notable firms in this space include Midjourney, which is working on a body scanner for a spa experience slated to open in San Francisco by 2027; Fountain Life, co-founded by Tony Robbins and Peter Diamandis, which offers health assessments and scans; and Function Health, co-founded by wellness podcaster Dr. Mark Hyman, which has added body scans to its blood testing services after acquiring startup Ezra. Function recently secured a $450 million loan from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund under a profit-sharing repayment model.
