Meta Launches Mac App for AI with System-Wide Dictation Features

Meta has unveiled a new Mac application for its AI services, integrating system-wide dictation capabilities. This app utilizes the Muse Spark model, enabling it to analyze the current screen and respond to user inquiries based on contextual information.

The dictation feature is compatible with all applications on the Mac, positioning it alongside similar tools like Wispr Flow, Superwhisper, and Monologue. This release follows Google’s recent update of its Gemini app, which also introduced a system-wide dictation feature for Mac users.

The launch forms part of a broader update for business owners, allowing merchants to link their Instagram and Facebook accounts, Meta ad campaigns, and Google Workspace (including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides) to Meta AI. This integration facilitates insights retrieval by allowing users to ask the AI assistant specific questions.

Meta AI is capable of providing data on campaign performance and audience engagement metrics, helping users identify successful posts. Additionally, it offers competitive intelligence based on publicly available information.

With this new integration, the Meta AI assistant can generate proposal decks, draft documents, and create spreadsheets as part of its business tools functionality.

Meta has been focusing on enhancing its AI tools for businesses, promoting automated customer support and inquiry solutions across its apps, including WhatsApp and Instagram. During the company’s Q2 2026 earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg highlighted significant opportunities for selling AI agents to businesses and automating various tasks on their behalf.
