Selena Gomez and Mother Sued for Securities Fraud by Investors in Wondermind

Singer and actress Selena Gomez, along with her mother, is facing a lawsuit concerning their mental health startup, Wondermind. The plaintiffs allege they invested approximately $1.2 million in the venture, accusing Gomez of securities fraud and breach of contract.

The lawsuit claims that Wondermind failed to execute its commitments while keeping investors uninformed, and that Gomez did not fulfill her promises to market the startup. The allegations were first reported by Forbes.

Founded in 2021, Wondermind was designed to provide users with daily mental health resources. The lawsuit contends that investors were unaware of the company’s difficulties until a September 2025 article from The Cut revealed them.

The complaint states, “Gomez purported to sign a contract obligating her to perform and then ignored it. The partnerships did not exist. The initiatives never materialized. The app was never built. And for three years, while the Company quietly collapsed around them, not one of its founders, officers, or directors said a word to the investors whose money was funding the collapse.”

Investors further allege that Gomez and Wondermind misrepresented the financial status of the company and exaggerated the level of Gomez’s involvement. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments alongside legal fees.

As of now, Wondermind has not responded to requests for comment.
