Chelsea Enters the Race for Monaco’s Camara—What’s Behind This Shocking Move?

Date:

Premier League Clubs Eye Lamine Camara; Chelsea Eyes Martín Zubimendi

AS Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara is attracting interest from multiple Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United. This follows AS Monaco’s recent player departures, such as Maghnes Akliouche to Paris Saint-Germain and Folarin Balogun’s link to Tottenham Hotspur. The Ligue 1 club has set a valuation of €50 million for Camara, and any move by Chelsea would likely require the club to offload one or two midfielders first.

In a related development, Arsenal is reportedly open to selling midfielder Martín Zubimendi following the signing of Bruno Guimarães. Chelsea has emerged as a primary candidate for Zubimendi, who may be a particularly appealing option for manager Xabi Alonso if Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández transfers to Manchester City. The Gunners are seeking at least £77 million for Zubimendi, who was signed for approximately £60 million last summer.

Sources indicate that Chelsea has implemented a Friday deadline for clubs interested in meeting their £120 million ($161.8 million) valuation of Fernández. Manchester City has expressed interest in the Argentine international.

Other Transfer Updates

Liverpool continues negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a deal for Bradley Barcola, whom they aim to sign before the transfer deadline. The club remains optimistic about securing the 23-year-old, who did not feature in PSG’s recent UEFA Super Cup victory over Aston Villa.

Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa has been linked with Arsenal, although the club is making efforts to retain the versatile defender. Villa is also in talks with West Ham United regarding a potential £25 million deal for right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Internazionale is prioritizing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, who has a potential transfer value of €35 million, although they must first offload Davide Frattesi.

In other news, Galatasaray has made a €45 million ($51.8 million) bid for Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli. Atlético Madrid is finalizing a deal for Cristian Romero from Tottenham, estimated at €40 million ($46 million).
