Curtis Jones Completes €35 Million Move to Inter Milan Amid Liverpool Transition

In a significant shift for Liverpool FC, midfielder Curtis Jones has departed the club to join Inter Milan in a €35 million deal, marking the end of an era defined by homegrown talent and local identity. Jones’ transfer comes shortly after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s own move to Real Madrid for €10 million last summer, highlighting a transitional period for the team following their successful run under Jürgen Klopp.

Jones, who made his first-team debut in 2019, has been renowned for his confident playing style, cultivated in the streets of Toxteth, Liverpool. His departure, following a long-standing frustration regarding his lack of playing time under new manager Andoni Iraola, reflects broader issues within the squad. Sources indicate that Jones’ discontent peaked in January when he was benched for a match against Arsenal, despite previously starting six consecutive Premier League games.

Expressing his ambition in December, Jones stated, “I want to be captain of the team. I want to stay here for all my life like the man who I look up to, as everybody knows is Gerrard.” However, following interest from Inter, his focus shifted away from Anfield.
