Nottinghamshire secured a crucial six-wicket victory over Surrey in their final Group A fixture of the Metro Bank Cup, chasing down 299 runs with 13 balls to spare. This win guarantees Notts third place in the group, setting up an away play-off against Yorkshire on Friday.

The match saw a standout performance from Nottinghamshire’s Michael Munsey, who scored 138 runs off 132 balls. Munsey’s innings included four sixes and 11 fours, showcasing his aggressive batting style after struggling in his previous outings for Scotland. He was well-supported by Haseeb Hameed and Kyle Verreynne, who contributed 51 and an unbeaten 57 runs, respectively. Their partnerships included a critical 109-run stand with Hameed and a 119-run partnership with Verreynne.

Earlier, Surrey set a challenging target, finishing at 298 for 8, thanks to Ryan Patel’s impressive century of 102 runs from 98 balls and Dom Sibley’s solid 84.
