Actor Taron Egerton shared personal insights regarding his relationship with his father, David Egerton, revealing they are currently not on speaking terms. He mentioned on the Aug. 10 episode of his podcast, Armchair Expert, that their relationship, which was once “fairly functional,” has become increasingly challenging, resulting in their estrangement.

During the podcast, Taron acknowledged, “I haven’t spoken to him for a number of years now.” He expressed hesitance to discuss his father extensively, noting, “he’s living his own life and doing his own thing,” which underscores his respect for David’s independence.

Despite the lack of communication, Taron emphasized he will “always” love his father. He articulated, “I do love him. I just don’t think we work very well in terms of our relationship,” indicating a significant disconnect that led him to “push the ejector seat” and cease contact.

He shared, “I am happier and more functional when I try and view everybody else as just trying their best,” implying that he does not find it difficult to feel compassion for David despite their strained relationship.
