Exclusive Pre-Order Bonus for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Revealed
- Pre-orders for Modern Warfare 4 offer the Inner Circuit M4 Assault Rifle Blueprint.
- The blueprint has two variants; the Xbox version features a unique glowing design.
- The game releases on October 23 across multiple platforms.
As anticipation builds for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, scheduled for October 23, Activision has introduced an enticing pre-order incentive that goes beyond the typical $5 store credit. Players who pre-order a digital copy, regardless of platform, will receive the Inner Circuit M4 Assault Rifle Blueprint.
This Blueprint, a custom skin introduced since the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot, features two versions—one exclusive to Xbox users. While players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2 will receive a mil-spec version in translucent black, the Xbox variant glows with a translucent green finish, celebrating 25 years of Xbox—a nod to the color of the original Xbox console. The design also incorporates an Xbox logo on the magazine well.
However, an interesting catch is that only Xbox players will be able to view the unique green variant. When an Xbox player participates in a cross-play match, others on different platforms will see the standard version in their killcam instead.
According to a statement from the developer on the official Call of Duty blog, “Designed as a tribute to 25 years of Xbox, the Inner Circuit Blueprint takes cues from classic translucent Xbox hardware. Its transparent green finish exposes the weapon’s internal systems, turning the technology beneath the surface into part of the visual identity.”
This launch of the Inner Circuit Blueprint marks a notable shift in Call of Duty’s approach to platform-specific bonuses, which have typically been limited to exclusive skins for each respective platform. In contrast, the M4 pre-order bonus is available across platforms, but its distinct appearances are only visible to players on a single platform, which is an unusual design choice.
The introduction of this bonus suggests the possibility of varying visual experiences within the same skin for different players. The ongoing debate among Call of Duty fans regarding character and weapon skins has highlighted the demand for options that preserve the original look while allowing players to select custom designs.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2 starting October 23.
